Notes
The title of your thread should be your character's name, or the name they go by. This goes for both the public and secret profiles.Formatting doesn't matter as long as it's readable. Feel free to use a template or change up the formatting if you want.
The public profile should be posted in the Pending Characters sub-forum, and the secret profile should be posted in the Secret Profiles sub-forum. The public portion will be seen by everyone, and the private portion can only be seen by the account that posted it and the admins.
The public profile is for what you want everyone to see. The private profile is for everything you want to keep secret from people, but should still be seen by admins to make sure everything checks out. The admins will never share any information in the secret profile, so be thorough even if you want to keep some secrets.
Secret profiles are required, even if you don't intend to keep anything hidden. Just create the thread and say there's nothing to see here in order to keep up the illusion that there might be something in it. Regardless of whether there's anything in it or not, you can use it for personal notes if you want.
Once your character is accepted, the public portion will be moved to accepted characters. The secret profile will not be moved.
Post in the Notification Thread with links to both your profiles once your character is done. Your character will not be looked at until both profiles are posted in the notification thread.
If any changes need to be made, they will be posted in the secret profile. Keep in mind that only the account that posted the secret profile will be able to see any posts in it. Post in the notification thread once the changes have been made and you're ready for staff to take another look.
Remember that the five custom fields in the mini-profile must be filled out in order for your character to be accepted!
If you have any questions PM all staff rather than replying to the thread. A PM is much more likely to get staff attention than a reply in the thread.
Requirements for the Public Profile
These are the only fields required for the public profile:- Name
- Appearance or Face Claim (If you have an FC appearance is not required at all)
- Occupation
- Personality
- Skills
The public profile does not have to be accurate. It just needs to be what people see. IE, if they act bubbly and happy in person, but secretly want everyone to just die, you can just describe the bubbly and happy part in the public personality if desired. The private profile however, should be completely accurate.
Stats will be going in the mini-profile for ease of staffing, so there's not much point in trying to keep them hidden. That said, they don't have to be put in the public profile if you really don't want to. Skills must be put in the public profile to make it easy for staff to resolve expeditions.
