Today the first science milestone has been reached! As a result, you get a piece of information based on speculation I saw (both IC and OOC speculation applies for future Science milestones). Everything in this post is completely accurate, though I reserve the right to be misleading.

New Sumatran Journal of Archaeology
Recently, an expedition was carried out to study the nature of the stones that make up the Twilight Jungle Ruins. Even a quick glance and brief description was enough to make it clear that those stones were not found anywhere near New Sumatra, so where did they come from? For now we settled with trying to figure out some of their unique properties and a little more about their structure and what they're made out of. Perhaps they could be made with materials found in the jungle, or were simply an unknown combination of the materials found around New Sumatra. Perhaps they really are some new material never seen before. Perhaps they were simply brought in from far away because the habitable area was much larger. Getting the answers to these questions was our primary goal.
The team brought along an engineer to help them extract the stone for safety reasons. No one wanted the ruins to collapse on them. However, they quickly found out that the stones in the ruins were completely impervious to anything we could hit them with. Even the highest grade machinery wasn't enough to make a dent in the walls. The murals in the ruins seem to be made out of a similar, but more malleable material that we were able to cut through, but those were the exception. Given the weathered state of the dungeon, this was quite the surprise. It's not entirely clear what this means, but there are two obvious options. The first is that the monsters or magical plants found a way to break through the stones. We will be looking into this potential method. The second is that the ruins were built like this and that they haven't weathered at all. Why someone would intentionally build something to look half destroyed and old is not clear.
Thus, this expedition left us with more questions than answers. We will continue our investigation.
