Name: Alicia Johnson
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Occupation: Student, going the generalized education route
Face Claim: Fate/Zero - Shirley
Appearance: Standing at 5'3", Alicia has a bit of an odd build. Her shoulders are broad, but the rest of her is really skinny, to the point of being lanky. There's very little meat on her bones. Her legs are on the longer side compared to the rest of her body, making her arms look a bit long, especially given how big her hands are. Her face is on the round side, with her chin being surprisingly pointy given the rest of her face. Her nose is wide and flat, and her eyes are a bit closer together than they are on the average person. She's missing one of her teeth, the front tooth furthest to the left, next to the canine. Her hair is shoulder length and brown. It's normally kept in a loose ponytail to help keep her hair out of her face.
Her clothing choices tend to be simple and comfortable, favoring jeans and a t-shirt of some kind. Though she seems to make a point of wearing very expensive pants when she goes exploring.
Talents:
Socializing: Alicia is a people person. She's good at carrying a conversation, and has a good sense for how people are currently feeling. She can tell pretty quickly if someone's interested or not, or if something else is on their mind. She makes a point of trying to cheer people up.
Cooking: Her cooking style is experimental, but she's good at mixing whatever ingredients she happens to see laying around into something tasty. She has a good sense of smell too, which helps a lot.
Being Sneaky: Her body is small and skinny, so she finds it easy to fit into small areas and take unexpected routes. Further, she's good at making her foot falls quiet and disappearing into crowds of people.
Lying: Alicia has a good poker face and can say just about anything with a straight face. Sometimes it can be hard to tell if she's being serious or not if she tries to hide it.
Writing: Likely because of her social skills in general, Alicia is good at stringing words together. Sometimes she wants them to sound nice, other times she only wants people to understand what she means in the simplest way possible. Her typing speed is also pretty fast and her penmanship is impeccable.
Personality: Alicia is laid back and friendly. It's hard to get her riled up or offend her as she easily shrugs off insults and the bad things that happen in her life. She's pretty secure with herself and all her flaws, and understand that people that try too hard to make others unhappy tend to be unhappy themselves. While she thinks about the future sometimes, she prefers to take life as it comes, focusing on what's happening now rather than what might happen later. She's more than willing to have fun even if she has homework that needs to get done, as that homework is a problem for her future self to deal with. It's important to spend time with the people she cares about, even if it means neglecting other areas of life.
Alicia loves being around people. She surrounds herself with them and feels a bit moody if she has to be alone for too long. She can easily fit herself into most social groups and adapt to the kind of people that happen to be in the area. That doesn't mean she completely changes her personality, just the kinds of things she says and when she says them. She's good at reading situations and people, so figuring out what is proper and what just isn't done in certain social groups comes naturally to her. That said, she's a bit of a troll and likes playing harmless pranks on people. She believes that taking yourself too seriously is the most heinous of all crimes and makes a point to knock those kinds of people down a peg so hopefully they relax. It's important to enjoy life, and that can't be done if someone's worrying about how they look or that test next week all the time.
Because she likes being around people so much, and really hates being alone, a lot of her thoughts are centered around people. She likes to help people, though her help tends to be a bit unconventional because she goes after what she personally thinks is the problem rather than what the person thinks is the problem. That said, she's a very good listener and is more than happy to let people just rant at her if she needs it. From the outside, it could easily look like nothing bothers her, but there are several things that do. Part of the reason she wants to fix everyone's problems is because everyone's problems bother her so much. She has a strong sense of empathy, so she often does feel like everyone's problems are her own in a literal sense. Alicia just prefers to keep her own negative emotions hidden behind a smile because it tends to put people at ease and is less likely to make people think they're burdening her sometimes. Plus, for those serious people that need to get knocked down a peg, it makes it clear that their tactics to make her go away just won't work.
Even though most of the time she's really mellow, sometimes she has bouts of mania where she gets really frustrated at something and needs to do SOMETHING about it. It's typically with things she can't do much about because if she could handle it, it's unlikely she'd get really frustrated about it. It leads her to make terrible decisions that are often rash and irreversible.
History: Alicia was born to a loving couple and is the oldest of five. Her parents decided to work two jobs for extra money so that they could live in a bigger apartment and their children could have nice things. This meant that her parents were rarely around, and when they were home they were typically sleeping. Being the oldest, Alicia became a surrogate parent for her siblings as she grew. She didn't mind this responsibility, her parents clearly needed the help and it was the least she could do for them.
School was something she struggled with. There were a lot of things to learn, and a lot of the subjects were really difficult. Further, if there was something she couldn't figure out on her own, she probably wasn't going to be able to figure it out at all. She didn't want to bother her parents with something like this, and she didn't want what little time they were able to spend together to be about homework. Sometimes she would ask her teachers for help, but they had enough other students to deal with that she wanted them to be able to focus on the others. People worried too much about this sort of thing. In the end, it probably wasn't that important, and she didn't want to make the same mistakes her parents did. What mattered was the people she cared about, and focusing on material things and 'success' meant less time with them.
Socially she excelled. She found it easy to make friends, showed no fear in striking up conversations with new people, and made a point of knowing everyone in her class. Alicia was happy there were finally a bunch of other people around and that she would never have to worry about being alone. She made a point of helping everyone with their problems, even problems they didn't know they had, which made her some friends and some enemies. Sometimes she was considered nice, sometimes an obnoxious meddler that needed to mind her own business. But she wasn't any good at minding her own business and liked knowing everything about everyone. When it came down to it, she just loved people.
When she got older, she ended up being part of some community outreach programs and eventually became a regular contributor to LOVE. It was mostly through luck that she found them. They were handing out free cookies and brownies in the park and Alicia asked if she help out and make some too. From there, she got added to their email list and became a regular part of the group. Given she was still a child, she was limited in what she could do, but she was more than happy to practice her cooking and give everyone delicious treats. Most of her contribution revolves around making food, as she considers it one of her best skills.
As she grew, it became easier to understand why her parents were working so hard and why they insisted on doing that. It was like they cared more about prestige than the family they were trying to create. She could understand why they wanted their children to have more than they did, but she didn't need $100 pants. She didn't need her own computer. She didn't need fancy food or dresses with gemstones or any of that stuff. What she needed was them. It bothered her for months until one day she just couldn't take it anymore. Shortly after she turned 15, she snuck outside in the middle of the night and went into Twilight Jungle.
Much to her dismay, nothing happened. She didn't suddenly have the ability to shoot lasers out of her eyes, and she couldn't even do something lame like change her hair color or something. It could have easily ended there, but the feeling of frustration didn't fade. Alicia went into the jungle again, and again, and again, and started doing it every day for a month straight. No matter how many times she tried, she stayed the same. This continued until she encountered a monster on one of her excursions. It was almost like a giant butterfly, but it looked like it was made purely of brightly colored light. It didn't even look like it should be solid. Her face quickly found out that it was when it charged into her. The world went black and she didn't remember what happened after. Alicia woke up in her room with a missing tooth, a bruised face, and no idea what happened or how she managed to get here. She assumed someone found her before the monster could finish her off. It wouldn't be difficult to see such a bright monster in the darkness of the jungle, so it made sense. Despite her best efforts to find that person, she couldn't. Still shaken from what happened, she stopped going into the jungle.
The problem remained. Her parents wanted to support their family better, to the point that they were willing to work themselves to death and ignore the very family they were trying to help. Alicia hoped that she'd because to develop magical powers and get a whole bunch of money for them really fast. Surveyors were normally rich and didn't have to work long hours for that wealth, so it seemed like the best way to go. After that experience, she's having some second thoughts, but really didn't want to give up. There had to be something she could do right?
