Somewhere on the internet, a broken link redirects to a page unlike anything else on the website. Word of mouth or chat rooms might direct someone to the specific “contact us” or “advertise with us” button that would otherwise be gathering dust, if they didn’t stumble across it on their own. Inevitably, the wrong person would hear the wrong thing and the unofficial research would be taken down, but it’s only ever a matter of time before it reappears on a different site under a different link, newly updated with the most recent information.

Finding 1:
“Still burning torches line the walls, each tightly wound hallway managing to look exactly like the last. Eventually, the explorers come across a wall with a mural with a torch on either side. The patterns on the lower parts resemble several trees growing on floating islands, humanoid shapes with wings, or fins, or other odd features, and clouds and rain. Archaeologists might be able to do something with these pictures.”
Finding 2:
“Still burning torches line the walls, each tightly wound hallway managing to look exactly like the last. The narrow hallway expands into a spacious room, completely devoid of light. Just entering the room makes anyone with magic feel a little sluggish and like their powers are weaker, though those without magical abilities are unaffected. The walls are still made of the same gray stones the rest of the ruins are made out of, but there are a few other types of rocks sticking out of it. They're all crystalline, and shaped like quartz. They're either a very dark purple or black in color. It doesn't look like they were placed here, as there's no structure or consistency with their placement, and they even cover the floor and ceiling. It looks more like nature overtook this part of the ruins, though there is no plant life in the room, just these strange rocks. There's a few loose ones that can easily be picked up.
By the time the explorers reach the end of the room, the ones with magic might feel a bit tired, potentially to the point of feeling out of breath. In the distance an odd wail can be heard. Loud enough and forceful enough that every time the cry echoes through the corridors the walls vibrate.”

Finding 3:
“The hallways continue for awhile longer until the ruins suddenly open up. Instead of narrow hallways, the explorers come across a massive room, large enough that the other side can't be seen in the dim light. There are no torches in the room, so the only light in the area is the light the explorers brought themselves. The room looks completely different from the rest of the ruins as well. Instead of being full of gray stone, the walls are colorful, covered with several different types of stones in various colors. None of the stones look like something found near New Sumatra. They form patterns and pictures, mostly depicting large trees, flowers, and floating islands. However, some of the pictures are difficult to make out because they're full of scratches and other marks. Some of the scratches are large and deep and suggest that whatever creature made them has claws significantly larger than a human head.
The wail is getting louder, and the vibration in the walls more intense. In the distance, there are frequent loud thuds that sound like foot steps from a massive creatures. What ever's causing it is getting closer. It sounds like it's coming from the deepest part of the dungeon.”

Finding 1:
"The winding corridors continue, this time tighter with more branching paths that lead nowhere. At one of the deepest parts, there's a small alcove. It's easy to miss because the entrance is about half the size of a human, and it looks more like the bricks that make up the ruin's walls collapsed there instead of it being a path to another room. There's nothing else significant about the area either. The still burning torches still line the walls, the walls are still the same shade of gray, and the stones are still arranged into the same pattern.
Inside the alcove is a different story. The walls are lined with colorful murals depicting a large rainforest, floating islands, and images of people with wings. It doesn't look like the colors on the walls have faded with time either. If they have, then the dyes used must have been especially bright given how vivid the colors on the murals are. The only bits of gray in this room are on the floor and the ceiling, the rest is covered in bright colors.
There are more clothes than the explorers can count hanging on racks. There are numerous robes, each made of a heavy almost velvet-like material, adorned with gems with what looks like gold in some of the seams and across the front. There are numerous dresses, most of them made out of lighter materials and silks. There are shirts and pants, most also made out of lighter materials and none of them less ornate than anything else.
On some shelves is more jewelry than the explorers could hope to carry back with them. Necklaces, rings, earrings, broaches, bracelets, and numerous other kinds. Most made of gold, but others made out of brightly colored stones like jade, and many of them are covered in gems."

In the center of the room, there's an ornate coffin that's just as bright as the rest of the room. It's covered with gems and oddly colored stones that look nothing like the kind of stones that can be found near New Sumatra. Inside is a mummified human dressed in expensive looking ornate clothing. The clothing is as bright as anything else in this room, the colors mostly being lighter blues and golds. It looks like some of the trim might be made of actual gold as well. The body is perfectly preserved and looks completely human with no noticeable mutations.
Surrounding the coffin are several jars and pots. A lot of them are empty, but several are filled with dried fruits and flowers. All the plants in them look like plants that can be found in the jungle. It's likely the rest of the pots held similar things at one point, but the contents were either taken or rotted away."

"Still burning torches line the walls, each tightly wound hallway managing to look exactly like the last. The sound of running water can be heard in the distance. In the middle of one of the hallways there's an ornate fountain. It's small, and lets the water trickle down over several layers of rocks with intricate patterns carved into them. Many of the layers also have decorative gemstones in them."
Finding 5:
"The corridor is narrow, and a bit dark because there's fewer torches lining this one than most corridors in the ruins. Instead, this corridor has several statues of what looks like winged humans in fine clothing, completely colorless and made out of the same kind of stone the rest of the ruins are. As the explorers pass, some of the statues try to grab a few of the explorers and pulls them into the room behind them."

Findings:
Finding 1:
“The entrance feeds into a complex maze of tight hallways. There are few branching paths, but it winds around in ways that seem impractical. Several of the paths lead nowhere, and look like every other path. The deeper in, the less nature appears to have reclaimed the ruins. After a few turns, torches that are still burning line the walls. Every torch looks identical, down to how the flame flickers. Around each of them are some completely identical looking plants with a single flower right below the torch.
Most of the time, the torches are firmly embedded in the walls. Trying to touch them would do little more than burn fingers, and trying to pry them out of the wall around resulted in the plants growing back in impossibly fast to fill in the holes. Less precise damage that the plants couldn't repair would result in a broken torch. However, one of the torches in this hallway is loose and the plants around it are wilting. This one would be easy to grab and take back to the city for study.”

Finding 2:
“As the explorers move to the next room, the sound of heavy footsteps gets louder. With each thud from those steps, loose rocks and other debris move away from the source of the footsteps and towards the explorers. It starts out as smaller movements, as though the floor and walls are shaking, but as they get closer the debris starts flying. The debris is easily being lifted up off the ground and being flung around the room, always away from the source of the footsteps. The wails get louder as the explorers approach.
Then the explorers can see the figure that caused those gashes in the wall and it quickly becomes clear that it is not responsible for the wails.
The room leads into an even larger room, also bright and decorated with murals. Much like before, the murals depict a large rainforest, floating islands, and people with wings. It doesn't look like the colors on the walls have faded with time either. If they have, then the dyes used must have been especially bright given how vivid the colors on the murals are. The floor is covered with bright tiles; the ceiling is the only bit of gray in the room.
At the end of the room is a massive creature. It resembles a large dog, though it's far larger than any dog ever seen in New Sumatra. Even on all fours it's nearly 12 feet tall, making it large enough that it couldn't even fit through most of the corridors in the ruins. Its fur moves, as though it's floating through the air. It waves when the beast is standing still, and has fluid, almost airy, motions when it moves. On each of its paws are three claws, each nearly double the size of a human head. As the explorers approach, those claws are digging into the half a dozen monsters surrounding the beast.
As the beast digs into one of the monsters, it lets out a high pitched wail. The wail is enough to make the explorers' bones shake in their bodies, but the beast does not seem particularly bothered by it. It barks then easily rips the monster apart. The monster disappears leaving an even louder wail behind, as though it dissolved into the sound on its death.
The beast catches another monster in its massive jaws and bites down hard. The monster explodes into a fireball, but the beast shrugs it off, the fire falling away from its face. It doesn't even look singed after. The beast quickly chews through the rest of the monsters with enough speed that if the explorers blink they might miss it. With all of them out of the way, it turns its attention to the explorers. It leans forward and lets out a deep growl, likely as a warning.
The beast hangs back at first, glaring at the explorers. It doesn't move, but the loose debris in the room goes flying anyway. It's as though something pushed everything, hard. The explorers can feel it to. Even if they don't move, they can feel something trying to knock them back with far greater force than most humans could exert, but if they get closer the force is even greater. It's very difficult to resist, especially with all the debris flying.”
