Another month has gone by, so it's time for another update! More importantly, it's time for the first plot update! The plot update will be below the general updates, so you can scroll past those to see it.
Two milestones were hit! The Industry milestone gave +3 attribute points for everyone to spend, so now the amount of points everyone has is 38/28. Documentation has been updated accordingly. If you haven't updated your character make sure to get that done! The Surveying Association also hit their first milestone, making it so the Double... mod only gives a -2 effective attribute instead of a -4. It's now easier to use, so advanced exploration will be easier as well.
Some exciting things have been found in the dungeon as well. The first big loot rooms have been discovered. These rooms give lots of extra loot based on the number of people in the team. IE, if there's one these ones were giving 300, but if there were to it'd give 150, 3 100 etc. There may still be others and they may give even more loot than even 300. There's still a lot of exploration to be done! As for what was found, Iris found a preserved body in a coffin surrounded by food. Tristan found large piles of gold and trade goods. Clark found a lot of jewelry and various fountains full of different kinds of drinks. Theodora found a dangerous monster that's likely too difficult to beat alone in the depths of the dungeon.

Now for the plot update! These were based on the requests people had when donating to Science and are not connected to the Science milestone. If you're not satisfied with the direction the plot is going, or were expecting something a little different from your donations don't hesitate to donate to Science and be as vague or specific as you like. Being more specific is more likely to get you what you're looking for, but being vague will leave more room for surprises. With all that said, onto the new plot stuff!
Space Exploration
Thanks to some generous donations, the centers for space exploration are starting to dust off the cobwebs and get back to work. A small portion of the money went to things to try to increase their longevity, such as getting pretty pictures of space to try to inspire the younger generation to be more interested in what's out there. The rest went into experiments to try to get a satellite of some kind into space, along with some attempts to see how viable a manned expedition would be in the future.
Currently, both are looking difficult. They found that whatever's causing living things to die in the wasteland applies vertically as well. In other words, going over a certain height is no different from walking through the wasteland, it's just harder to notice because the air's so thin at that height that there's not much that wants to live up there in the first place. More information about the wasteland and how to counteract its affects are necessary before any manned space travel will be possible.
Launching a satellite is looking easier, and if New Sumatra could get pictures of the world from space, it might tell everyone whether or not there's other life on the planet besides the city. Breaking through the atmosphere has proved difficult, and so far all attempts to do so has resulted in the satellite burning up in the atmosphere. There's still a lot that needs to be learned, but the scientists involved have stated that there's something that would help them a lot: lighter materials. Currently, it takes a lot of extra fuel to launch things into space, and the weight of the crafts used are definitely making it more difficult. Lighter materials, such as aluminum, would be very useful. There aren't a lot of materials like this around New Sumatra, but given the wasteland's mineral resources in general, they hope that there might be some potential for mineral discoveries as the wasteland is explored.
Currently the scientists are calling for further exploration of the wasteland. The answers to a lot of their problems are likely to be out there.
In addition to this information, a new board called "Space Center" has been added to the wasteland. It'll have everything you need to look at the stars.
Gnosis
A group of Gnosis scientists, fed up with the conditions they had to work in, got together and tried to make their working conditions better. This resulted in the creation of a small lab for any Gnosis scientist to use. It's small and near impossible to find unless you know what you're looking for. Thus, they now have a relatively safe and better equipped area to do some research.
A hidden board has been created for this. In order to see it, the account needs to be part of the Gnosis member group. To be part of this group, PM Kitten4u with a request and she'll look over your character sheet to see if your character qualifies. This group is only for active Gnosis members, not supporters or anything like that. Membership and what they do for the group must be mentioned in your character's profile (public or private) in order to qualify. The group isn't visible to anyone, and neither is the membership, so if your character is secretly in Gnosis their secret will still be safe. Unfortunately, due to limitations, other members of the group will also not be able to see the member list.
Magical Fanclub
Some of the leaders of the club have been working to expand their information network and figure out how to get more info on the magic user in New Sumatra. Even if most of them are teens, some of them are quite shrewd and have found ways to use their childish charm to get people to let their guards down. It's been easier for them to chase rumors and follow people around without it looking like that's what they're trying to do.
Members of the Magical Fanclub (not supporters, actual members) can now PM Kitten4u once per week and get a yes or no response to whether someone uses magic.
