There were a lot of things Alicia was curious about. Some of them were common like 'what's on the other side of the wasteland?' or 'how do they even make meat?'. Some of them were less common, but she tended to act on them anyway. It's why she found out that she really liked hot sauce and some of those fruits from the jungle are really good in cookies. The way she saw it, if something didn't work out it wasn't the end of the world, it was just a sign not to do it again. Or try harder. It depended on the circumstances. She wasn't afraid to try new things, and she wasn't afraid of failing or even getting into trouble. It meant that she tried a lot of things that sounded like a good idea at the time.
This was one of those times. There was something she had always been curious about. In every apartment she'd ever seen, and even in the halls, there were these little vents. What were they for? Were they connected? Were there cameras in them? Her attempts at ignoring them failed. Every time she walked somewhere and saw one of those vents is just bugged her. Alicia had to know. Fortunately, there was one near the ground in the hallway not too far away from her apartment. It was a little small, but she was pretty sure she could squeeze through it.
Thus, she took a screwdriver with her, took out all the screws and removed the front part of the vent. She carelessly tossed it to the side along with the screws and the screw driver, and prepared to crawl in. Her head fit fine, but her shoulders were hard to squeeze in. So much so that once she finally did squeeze them in, her chest was on top of her hands and she couldn't move them. She tried to push herself further in with her legs, but she wouldn't budge. She tried to push herself out of the vent with her hands and feet, but her body still refused to budge. Alicia was stuck and there wasn't a lot she could do about it. Half of her body was in the vent. The waist down was outside of it. For a moment she kicked and flailed, but it was for nothing. She was completely stuck.
It really did seem like a good idea at the time.
