[Blog Post 1] Matt Acres here, everyone! I'm starting up a new blog (and keeping it a secret from my friends and family) since I've decided to try and see if I can crack the mysteries that surround the world we live in. I somehow managed to get my hands on the elusive Expedition Log posts on the internet (the link's here if you want to see for yourself!) through an unbelieveable stoke of luck, and I think they're all hinting to something very interesting... An expedition taken into the wasteland (documented as W01: Peeking) reveals that Fish Fossils have been found in a cave underneath the sands that were presumed to have been bottomless. This leads me to assume that the land below us may have once held a large body of water, and perhaps even New Sumatra itself may be something built upon an what once may have been an underwater civilisation. This would definitely explain the existence of the ruins in the center of the Twilight Jungle, but it doesn't explain the existence of the Jungle itself... further exploration into the ruins could reveal why the jungle exists, but either way, the ruins seem to hold some kind of secret to sustaining life, as well as some kind of secret pertaining to magic... What are your thoughts, everyone? If you could, please share your opinions in the comments below! --- (A character replying to this thread will be treated as a comment unless otherwise specified)

Certainly an interesting theory! Some things just don't sit right with me, though.
The most glaring issue would be the mural with the humanoids (F1 in the log). Judging by the mural, the magic users of the past lived on floating islands or something. That'd mean that magic couldn't be an answer of how the civilization survived underwater. I'm a surveyor, myself, and I've been in the ruins; the place just isn't technologically advanced enough for that to be the answer, either.
What seems, to me, more likely is this: the Ancients or whatever you want to call them settled near a large body of water, much in the same way that our ancestors presumably settled around the Twilight Jungle. If there are fossils out in the wasteland, that suggests that the Area of Livability™ was larger than it is today by some unknown amount. This would lead to two possibilities: either the AOL™ was far larger than we have any way of even guessing, so they settled near the water because that was a necessary resource; or the AOL™ wasn't much larger than it is today, so they had no choice but to live here anyway.

First of all, thanks for visiting this blog and for commenting! You certainly seem to know your stuff - your theories definitely make a lot of sense. I hadn't considered the idea of the Area of Livability being larger than it was today... I clearly need to read some more of the expedition log. That does make me curious as to the reason for the presence of such murals, though. It wouldn't be remiss to assume that they exist as a testament of civilisations of times past - even we ourselves are leaving our marks on the world for others to see or find in the future. But, if we are to believe that they are accurate representations of the past, does this mean that there was once a time in which everyone benefited from magic in some shape or form? If so, what do you think could have happened to lead the state of the world into what it is today? Do you think perhaps the civilisation from the mural may have even decided to move settlement and leave these ruins behind? Or if they had died out, what do you think may have caused them to do so?

[Blog Post 2]
Matt Acres again, and guess what? I've been doing some exploring! But more than that, I have a huge announcement to make for everyone who doesn't already know - scientists have made a discovery about the ruins! Apparently, the rocks making up the walls of the dungeon are completely impervious to even the highest level of rock-extracting technology we've got at hand so far. The journal is here for anyone who wants to read more.
Now onto my personal achievements... I've managed to make it out to the wastelands and down to the ruins to find out more about how our world works! I'm afraid to say that not much was found from my trek to the sands, but I can at least say this - it's dangerous and I wouldn't recommend going alone. I nearly fell into a deep cavern - it was scary as hell, I'll tell you that! As for the ruins, I went in with someone else, but ended up coming out alone... the ruins seem keen on splitting people apart. There is a monster I'd like to warn you about - it emits black slime that can really mess with your mind. It even knocked me out...
Judging by the nature of how I ended up, though, I can say that not all monsters seem to be hell-bent on killing you (with certain exceptions, from what I've read of the expedition logs - apparently there are some really nasty monsters called 'Boss Monsters' out there... yikes!) I haven't been able to meet up with my comrade yet, but I'm heading home and hoping she turned out okay. After all, I was the one who got dragged off - not her.
Here are a few video clips and pictures I managed to record in the ruins - I've shared them with some scientists (who gave me decent money for them) and I'll share them with you guys, too!
Matt Acres signing out for now.
See ya round next time humanity makes a cool discovery!

You have an amazing blog, just to let you know, I got out of the ruins alright. I ended up in a large mysterious room with mural drawings of people with wings, floating islands and rain forests. Unfortunately I didn't have my phone so I couldn't take pictures of it, but I did however wrote my findings on a notepad and did a crudely drawn sketch of the murals down below when I got back to my apartment.
(Three badly drawn pictures appear here. The first is of people with wings, the second is of floating islands and the final picture is the rain forest.)
Please know that art is not my speciality. I also encountered...Three coffins in the room, they had...Skeletons of animals from the inside. The first two had cats on the inside by the looks of it, but the third coffin appeared to have a large dog, a very large dog which was most likely mutated to grow to the size I found it in. Shortly after that I encountered a room which quickly became flooded and I had to swim my way out.
In short, I am ok. I'm going to research the strange liquid we found earlier in the ruins sometime soon. I'll reply here if I discover anything about it, because for all we know the liquid could be something important, or nothing at all...

I'm so glad you're okay! I wasn't sure what to believe, so I ended up walking around for a few hours trying to find you... Your discovery sounds awesome, but I really wish you'd had some kind of recording device! Next time we explore (I'm hoping there'll be a next time, anyway...) promise me you'll bring some kind of camera! We'll also have to be more careful not to get split up; I'm so sad that I didn't get to see any of it myself... Maybe we'll be able to find it again. Hope to see you soon!
